New Bikes with New regulations for MotoGP in 2027

Six new changes have been brought in for 2027 MotoGP season onwards

ENGINE REGULATIONS:

The engine size will decrease from 1000cc to 850cc, leading to reduced top speeds for safety and increased mileage for efficiency. The maximum bore will also reduce from 81 to 75 millimetres, limiting performance and making the engines more road-relevant while maintaining MotoGP™'s spectacular characteristics. Additionally, the maximum number of engines allowed per rider in a season will be reduced from seven to six for further efficiency.

FUEL REGULATIONS:

MotoGP™ will use 100% sustainable fuel from 2027, increased from the previous minimum of 40%. The fuel tank capacity will reduce to 20 liters and riders can use 11 liters during the Tissot Sprint.

AERODYNAMICS REGULATIONS:

Aerodynamics will be more tightly controlled from 2027 to minimize their negative effects. Changes include reducing the width of the top of the front fairing by 50mm and pushing back the nose by 50mm to reduce aero impact on straights and braking areas, leading to closer racing and more overtaking. Additionally, aero behind the rider will be part of homologation from 2027, with teams allowed only one update per season for cost control.

RIDE-HEIGHT AND HOLESHOT DEVICES:

There will be a prohibition on all ride-height and holeshot devices. This measure is intended to regulate performance and enhance safety during race starts. Moreover, it will further accentuate the significance of each rider's skill, similar to how aero aims to improve their overtaking ability.

GPS DATA

GPS data from all riders will be accessible to all teams after each session, creating a fairer playing field. This access will aid less performing teams and riders in improving at a controlled cost while also enhancing safety and providing fans with more insight into the sport.

CONCESSIONS

The new concession system, starting in 2027, will assess manufacturers at the beginning of the season as Rank B and again mid-season to adjust their access to concessions based on performance. This proactive approach aims to maintain a level playing field for all manufacturers. MotoGP™ in 2027 promises increased safety, sustainability, and entertainment value.
